Thermage can help you look years younger without any incisions or surgery.

Definition of Thermage

Thermage is a cosmetic procedure that uses radio-frequency technology for the treatment of facial lines, wrinkles, and moderate to severe acne vulgaris.

Overview of Thermage

Most men and women are looking for a great way to look younger without going under the knife. Because a facelift is not something that everyone is willing to do or can afford, Thermage has been created. This procedure can help you look years younger without any incisions or surgery. Often known as a non-surgical facelift, Thermage is a treatment that will provide you with much tighter skin, showing off all of the contours of your face. Thermage is only done in the offices of certified doctors who specialize in cosmetic surgery and procedures.

Thermage uses something called CRF or captive radiofrequency technology. The technology is known as Therma cool and it is known to provide consumers with the tight and smooth skin that they want. The process does not involve any incisions and can be done in very little time, and is more simple than many believe is possible. The ThermaCool device that tightens and smoothes the skin is FDA approved for the removal of wrinkles and aging.

Purpose of Thermage

There is one purpose of Thermage and that is to look younger. As we age our skin begins to sag and wrinkle, and there really isn’t a whole lot we can do to stop this process because it is natural. Just because the process of getting wrinkles and sagging skin is natural doesn’t mean you have to settle for it. Thermage can provide consumers with tighter skin and much less in the way of wrinkles.

When people look good they feel good, and many consumers are finding that in just a short visit to the doctor that they can look good and feel good about themselves for the first time in a long time. This is a procedure that is allowing those who do not want to undergo a surgical face lift to get the same results without the recovery time and incisions. The procedure is also a lot more affordable than a surgical facelift, making it an option for many more people.

The purpose of Thermage has always been to help people look younger by getting rid of wrinkles and sagging skin. Unlike many of the other techniques that can be done on the skin to reduce the signs of aging, Thermage is approved and very safe if you go to a doctor that knows what he or she is doing. Many predict that Thermage will drastically reduce the number of consumers that are planning to have a surgical face lift.

How Thermage Works

The Thermacool device uses what is called a Thermatip. The Thermatip delivers CRF energy to the surface of the skin. Each time the tip touches the skin the tip heats a portion of collagen that is found deep within the skin, but it also protects the outermost layer of skin because the tip is cool, hence the name. The controlled application of the CRF energy causes the skin to tighten right away. With repeated use of Thermage treatments patients will experience a rebuilding of collagen that will provide them with smoother and tighter skin than they have had in years.

During the Thermage treatment patients will feel a very short heat sensation as the CRF energy is applied to the layers of skin. The heat that is felt is an indication that the collagen is heating up and tightening the skin. Trained physicians are able to control the amount of CRF energy that is delivered to provide the best results for each individual case. The idea is to provide the best results with the most comfort, and that is why the tip of the device is cool to ensure that even though the deep layers of the skin are being heated that the surface of the skin is not being burned. To ensure comfort an anesthetic cream can be applied to the skin that will be treated.

Benefits of Thermage

There are many benefits of Thermage, especially when you compare it to a surgical face lift. One of the biggest benefits of this procedure is that it does not require any incisions and it will not require general anesthesia. Many under estimate the healing time of a surgical face lift, only to find that it takes them weeks to get back on their feet, while Thermage can be done in 20 minutes and you can be back doing what you love or need to do the very same day.

Another benefit of Thermage is that it does not pose the risk of infection like many other treatments do because the skin is not actually being damaged at the surface because of the cool tip. Instead of focusing on the surface of the skin, Thermage focuses on the deep layers so there isn’t that risk of inflammation or infection, which is a positive thing.

One of the benefits of this type of procedure is that it is not all that costly. When you look at all of the skin treatments on the market today you’ll find that they are all very expensive, especially when they require incisions. The cost of Thermage is quite affordable, and to top it off it will only require one treatment while the others can require treatments once a month or more often.

Risks of Thermage

There are some risks associated with Thermage but they have been dealt with by changing the way that the process is done from the way it was done in the past. Some of the risks are topical burns, scarring, and pain at the site of treatment. These are very rare, but they are real risks that patients should consider before undergoing the procedure.

Cost of Thermage

Thermage is relatively affordable, especially when you consider that you can spend thousands of dollars several times a year with other procedures or you can spend tens of thousands of dollars on a traditional facelift. When you undergo a single treatment of Thermage you can expect to pay $1,000 to $1,500. If you have a case where you need a second treatment you can buy the two treatments for about $2,000 though the treatments will be scheduled anywhere from three to six months apart. Most patients just need the single, very affordable treatment.
